Admission Criteria

 

B A M S COURSE

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

  1. The candidates should have passed the two years P.U.C examination conducted by the P.U Education Board, Karnataka State, with Physics, Chemistry & Biology as optional subjects; or any other examination recognized as equivalent to it by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore.
  2. The Candidates should secured 50% of the total marks in Science subjects taken altogether at the qualifying examination. However the OBC category and SC/ST students of Karnataka are required to secure 40% of the total marks.
  3. The Candidate should have completed seventeen years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission.
  4. Foreign students desiring admission should produce, (a) No Objection Certificate from the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi. (b) An eligibility Certificate from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. (c) Student Visa. (d) Residential Certificate.
  5. The Selection is based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), conducted once a year by the Indian Government seeking admission into the course.

 BAMS degree course 5 ½ years, comprising

  1. I Professional                                                – 12 months
  2. II Professional                                               – 12 months
  3. III Professional                                              – 12 months
  4. IV Professional                                              – 18 months
  5. Compusory Rotatory Internship                – 12 months

Note: A minimum 75% attendance in theory and practical separately in each subject is required to be eligible for appearing examinations at the end of academic year subject to the condition that his/her progress and conduct are counted to be satisfactory by the Principal.

Important Note for parents and students

  • The students failed in any of the four professional examinations in four chances shall not be allowed to continue his or her studies, provided that in case of serious personal illness of student and in any unavoidable circumstances,, the Vice chancellor of the University may provide one more chance in any one of four professional examinations.
What is the BAMS course duration?

BAMS degree course 5 ½ years, comprising

  1. I Professional                                    – 12 months
